Meteoric Art Gallery

Welcome to the newest section of Meteorite Watch. The brand new, Meteoric Art Gallery (is this the right term? hmmm...). During my many hours surfing the web and building the MeteoriteWatch.com website I run across loads of information about meteorites and whenever I find something interesting, or something that I think other meteorite enthusiasts will enjoy I usually post something about it on the site.

In all the long hours of surfing the web I kept running into old artwork of meteorite falls, and photographs of fireballs in the sky, as well as some really great drawings and paintings depicting meteorites. Well, I thought why not make a meteorite art gallery. No one has done that yet and I have seen some really great meteoric art. If you have some art or know of a website that has a photo, drawing, painting, poster, flyer, stamp, or any other kind of artwork depicting asteroids, meteoroids, meteors, or meteorites please let me know by clicking the POST CONTENT button below. Your artwork will be posted ASAP and I will provide you with a link to your website or an honorable mention and thank you on MW for as long as the artwork is on the site.

300 Meteorites

Is this the real reason only 300 Spartans were able to defeat the massive Persian Army?

The American Historical Society has just published a recent study conducted on the famous Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC. According to recent historical accounts and new evidence recovered from the actual battle ground (found by Greek scientists using top secret detecting equipment on loan from the US military) reveals the truth on how only 300 Spartan Soldiers under the command of King Leonidas were able to defeat the Great Army of Persian King Xerxes I.

Firestone Mountain
An obvious meteor flying through our atmosphere above the Teton mountain range in Wyoming. Not really... I just made this after playing around in photoshop and it gave me an idea for the site. I decided to add yet another section to MW. A meteorite Art Gallery! Click Here To Visit The New Meteorite Art Gallery

Fusion

FUSION!
I made this one from a photo of my latest meteorite. I enhanced the fusion crust a bit in photoshop and added some color. Pretty simple stuff really but a cool effect.

Untitled Meteor
This is an Untitiled graphic I made trying to create a meteorite in photoshop. It's actually part of the image I made for Firestone Mountain but an earlier draft. What do you think?
