Below you'll find a list of reasons why everyone should own a meteorite.
(If you have something to add let me know)

1. It’s A Meteorite! Duh… – A 100% genuine rock from space. How many people can say they own one?

2. Meteorites Are Cool. – It’s just plain cool to own a meteorite. How many other things do you own that are as cool as a rock from space?

3. Meteorites Are Aliens! – They aren’t from here, they’re from 100s of MILLIONS of miles away and have been floating around out in space for many MILLIONS of years just waiting to land on our planet, and end up in your hands.

4. Meteorites Are Great Conversation Pieces. – Put it on your coffee table or on your desk at work and you’ll be amazed at the attention it will draw. People will constantly ask you about it and it give you an excuse to look really smart when you explain how it got here.

5. Chicks Dig Meteorites! – Guys like them too ladies, so don’t get mad for us saying this. The rest is self explanatory.

6. Meteorites Make You Smarter. – Or at least they make you seem smarter… ;) It’s kind of funny how when people ask you where you got a meteorite you can explain all kinds of cool scientific stuff about space, and planets, gravity, and the meteorite hurtling through our atmosphere, crashing into our planet and somehow through many adventures ended up on your desk.

7. Meteorites Are MANY Millions Of Years Old! – Some meteorites have been around since long before our planet was inhabited by humans. And even longer than our planet was a planet. (read # 9) Wow! What a concept. Can you actually wrap your mind around that?

8. Meteorites Changed Life As We Know It! – The fact is Dinosaurs used to live here, now they don’t. Scientists have been wondering why for decades. Only recently did scientists theorize that a Meteor impact probably killed the dinosaurs and forever changed life on this planet. Can you imagine sharing your neighborhood with the dinosaurs?

9. We Can Learn About Our Planets Origin From Meteorites. – Life as we know it would not be possible if it weren’t for meteorites. Did you know that very large asteroids actually have gravity? Even more bizarre and fantastic some even have moons, likes the asteroid Ida, it has a moon named Dactyl. Comets are asteroids, or rocks and ice that while orbiting our sun expel gases leaving a visible tail, or coma for all to see. Meteorites have changed the environment of this planet, they’ve been depositing minerals on our planet for millions of years, and they even wiped out entire species of animals. Technically speaking, meteorites made it possible for us to live on this planet. In fact scientists theorize that our planet was formed by the accumulation of space debris, aka, asteroids and meteoroids, floating through space, combining into planet sized rocks that eventually formed an atmosphere, moved into orbit around our sun and presto! You have Earth! Sort of…

10. It’s A Meteorite. Collect Them All! – That’s why you should own one, heck maybe you should own two or three… Whether starting a collection or adding to an existing one, collecting meteorites is just plain fun and awe inspiring. It doesn't matter if you're collecting for asthetic and artistic reasons, collecting samples for scientific study, or collecting because your obsessed and just can't stop buying meteorites. Meteorites are a window into our past. They help us understand, and give us a sense of secret knowledge that others just don't seem to understand or want to bother with. Some people collect for trade, some for profit, but most collect meteorites because they are pieces of past worlds or future planets. Whatever they are it touches something deep within us all. Something bigger than ourselves and has meaning and purpose, and could help us understand more about who we are and why we're here.

11. Meteorites Make Great Gifts! - Buy a bunch and give them away as gifts. They make great one of a kind gifts no one would ever expect. It'll be the best gift and most talked about at birthday parties. But be careful though when giving meteorites as gifts, some people may become a bit jealous if your gift ourshines theirs. Of course it will so be prepared. Just a friendly warning!
